"Vulvaya" Cover Illustration for Matabooks
Matabooks is a young independent publishing house from Dresden that produces vegan products made from grass paper – including beautiful notebooks. To kick off 2021, they've come up with something very special: A notebook collection that revolves around the theme of womens' empowerment.
I illustrated one of the 7 covers of Matabook's Taras (notebooks) with the design "Vulvaya". The message this motif seeks to convey is twofold: neither are the words vagina or vulva naughty, nor is it dirty or unnatural for women to be proud of their sexuality.
